Alright so I know I’m kind of late on this- considering it’s the 3rd day of 2012, but here are my top 11 albums of this year….Gonna drop the top 11 Mixtapes today as well so stay tuned!
11. Statik Selektah and Action Bronson – Well Done

Statik Selektah never disappoints! He and Action Bronson collared for one of my personal favorites of the year…combining their two brands of hip hop for a whole album of dopiness. If you haven’t listened to this yet, please pull your head out of your ass and do so- Hit the jump for the rest of the list….
10. Yelawolf – Radioactive

Yelawolf dropped his Shady Records debut and stretched musical genres but still showed his ass on the mic….I do wish the bonus songs on the Delux version would have made the actual album though.
9. The Game – The R.E.D. Album

“The City”, “Ricky”, and “Martians Vs. Goblins” were ILL- this album was pretty dope from front to back (sans the Dre and Snoop featured song).
8. Tech N9ne – All 6′s and 7′s

7. Common – The Dreamer, The Believer

Commons last album was horrible, and as bad as Universal Mind Control was- that’s how dope this album IS.
6. Evidence – Cats and Dogs

The wait was well worth it- Evidence’s 2nd solo album had banger after banger on it….not to mention my favorite Alchemist beat of all time (Red Carpet)
5. Saigon – Greatest Story Never Told

Another album that was worth the wait! I have been a big fan of Sai since 2004, and when this album didn’t come out on Atlantic my hip hop heart was broken….but this year we finally got it, and it was an INCREDIBLE album.
4. Maybach Music Group Presents: Self Made

If you don’t think this album is that good, chances are you haven’t heard it….This might be the album that got the most play in my car in 2011. Salute to Rick Ross for consistently making DOPE RAP MUSIC.
3. Drake – Take Care

This has been a year where it seems like Drake could do not wrong despite probably getting hated on more than anyone else in the game at the moment….To me this album solidifies Drake as an ELITE artist in Hip Hop. Even the sing songy R and B stuff is dope. Come on, can u really hate on “Marvin’s Room”? That shit is hard! And so is this album
2. Kendrick Lamar – Section 80

Just put it in and press play. You won’t skip one song. Classic.
1. The Throne – Watch The Throne

This was an album I was initially disappointed with. I was expecting the album to sound more like “The Joy” and “Otis”….but in retrospect, this is the BEST ALBUM of THE YEAR. The only weak song on the album in my opinion is “Lift Off”…other than that it’s 2 of hip hop’s greatest of all time doing what they do best!
